Ship 1115 is an active Sea Scout unit chartered by Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, VA. Join Ship 1115 to participate in all sorts of activities, such as:
• NE Region Sea Scout Sailing Championship, Tom’s River, NJ in April
• Nygard Regatta – held over Memorial Day Weekend on the Chesapeake Bay with competitions and maritime events.
• Weekly sailing on the Potomac River in front of Mt Vernon on our 25’ -27’ sailboats. Scouts operate the boats and give instruction. Become certified to operate boats in Maryland, Virginia and The District of Columbia.
• Overnight cruises on Chesapeake Bay including the St. Michael Antique and Classic boat Show.
• 45’ Ketch training vessel located in Baltimore. Learn to cook on board, pilot, navigate, stand watch, supervise a crew and become an instructor on the water.
• Tuesday evening races on Ol’ Blue out of the Washington Sailing Marina.
• Sea Scout Halloween and Christmas Parties – enjoyed every October and December.
• Northeast Region Sea Scout races in London, CT.
• Fall Rendezvous at Snug Harbor a laid-back relaxing social weekend with sister Sea Scout ships.
• Northeast Regional Bridge of Honor and Sea Scout Ball held each March at the Resort Inn in Swedesboro, NJ.
• Scout Sailing Championships held each June at the US Coast Guard Academy in New Haven, CT.
